Maritime Mercantile International (MMI) and Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR) awarded prime F&B retail locations in Dubai International’s new Concourse
Successful C3 bid strengthens international airport Food & Beverage (F&B) and travel retail credentials
30th July 2012 (Dubai, United Arab Emirates):* Maritime Mercantile International (MMI) and Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR), Dubai-based subsidiaries of the Emirates Group, have been awarded six prime Food and Beverage (F&B) and retail positions at the new Dubai International Concourse (C3) dedicated to handling Emirates Airlines’ A380 fleet and boosting capacity at the world’s fourth busiest airport for international traffic by 15 million passengers per year. The award of the concessions to MMI and ELR was made after successfully bidding in a highly competitive process against local and global operators.
MMI and ELR, which already operate over 30 outlets across nine domestic and international airports in Australia and the UAE (including all three terminals at Dubai International), see these new sites as a natural extension of both their F&B and travel retail portfolios.
ELR will roll out five premium F&B brands in the new concourse. The new F&B brands include Giraffe, the family friendly restaurant group that is scheduled to open its first outlet outside the UK at Dubai International, and Costa Metropolitan - an extension and more urban format of the well-established coffee brand. In addition, guests using the new terminal can also relax with a glass of the finest bubbly, accompanied by delicious rock oysters in the Champagne Lounge by Moët & Chandon; bar snacks and an ice-cold refreshment at the Heineken Lounge; and/or a succulent steak with some of Tennessee’s finest at Jack’s Bar & Grill, showcasing the world famous Jack Daniel’s brand.
ELR’s aim is very clear and simple – to create the world’s best airport culinary and beverage experiences through innovative F&B concepts, delivered in world class environments and supported by outstanding customer service, 24-7.

MMI will bring ‘Le Clos’, acknowledged by ‘Drinks Business’ (September 2011), as “game-changing” in the wine & spirits industry, to the new C3 facility and with twice the floorspace of the original outlet, which is situated in the main departures concourse of Terminal 3, Concourse 2, at Dubai International (The second Le Clos outlet is situated in the luxurious surroundings of Emirates Airline’s First Class Lounge). Guests can join celebrities, sports stars, wine lovers, and fellow travellers interested in browsing in what is probably the world’s finest luxury wine and spirits airport shop. Knowledgeable staff help choose the perfect bottle and Le Clos patrons will continue to have the option of ordering ahead via phone, online through the website www.leclos.net, and then either picking up personally in-store, or as part of our commitment to offering a unique concierge service, have their purchase delivered on arrival by one of the expert team.
