Beggar nabbed with Dh30,000 in pocket
The Sharjah Police on Sunday arrested a 40-year-old Pakistani beggar who managed to collect Dh30,000 allegedly by begging since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
The beggar identified as B.P was arrested while knocking at the doors in residential areas and begging.
A top officer at Sharjah Police said that this incident shows the deception of these beggars who use various methods to pretend and look needy and poor. He urged the public not to give their charity and grants to these cunning people but approach the charity organisations that will forward their money to the right people who really are in need. He asked the public to call 06-5632222 to complain about any mobile vendors and beggars. The police inspection targeting the beggars will continue until the illegal practice is brought to an end.
