Are you a meat lover? Meat Co. at Souk Madinat Jumeirah is definitely what you are looking for.The big number of restaurants in Dubai creates an impossibility of what could have been a very simple decision. In addition, the city’s collection of imported, frozen meat is not at all encouraging. I almost thought I would never taste a good steak in Dubai. But a 200 gram Fillet Steak later and a 250 Dirhams lighter, I was convinced otherwise. The Fillet was recommended to me by an ever so smiling waitress called Carolyn. And boy was I glad I listened to her. Not only was my steak tender, it was also juicy. Running my knife through my food filled my heart with tremendous joy. My taste buds were largely heightened with a Chicken and Mushroom soup prior to the steak which I would describe as nothing but superb. The aftermath of my heavy meal, however, was composed of warm dark chocolate fondant with luscious pistachio heart served with classic vanilla bean ice-cream & crème anglaise.The ambiance was also one of a kind. I was seated on a table overlooking the lake filled with a heavy traffic of boats carrying passengers snapping pictures. When I looked up, heavenly scenery descended upon me from different angles; Burj Al Arab on my right and the Madinat’s wind towers, mimicking the great historical Dubaian architecture, on my left.I walked in the Meat Co. restaurant at the Souk Madinat Jumeirah expecting a meal. An hour later, I walked out with an experience instead, a very pleasant one indeed. If you are looking for a friendly corporate lunch, a comfortable family restaurant or even a romantic place to take a date out, Meat Co. should be one of your considered destinations when searching for a good restaurant in Dubai.
